Job summary

Express Recruitment is partnering with a well-established Midlands commercial law firm to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant for the Leicester team. The role focuses on month-end, variance analysis, and financial reporting to support senior leadership in a high-paced environment.

The successful candidate will have experience in management accounting, ACCA/CIMA study progress or AAT, and strong Excel/ERP skills.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar Accountant role and solid understanding of core management accounting principles.
• Proven ability to support month-end and reporting processes in a busy function.
• ACCA/CIMA or equivalent study underway, with AAT qualification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver month-end support including schedules for fixed assets, prepayments, accruals and journals.
• Prepare initial drafts of monthly management accounts and variance analysis.
• Provide operational performance data supporting decision-making and insights.
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and assist with VAT returns and statutory submissions.
• Support cashflow monitoring and partner accounts reconciliations.
