ASSISTANT MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT - RETAIL

Reports to: Finance Business Partner - Retail

Position summary:

This role is focused on our Retail business, including UK stores and international locations in Europe, Canada, USA, and New Zealand.

As part of a team of 4, you will support the Finance Business Partner for Retail, responsible for business partnering, periodic reporting, and financial accounting and control.

Month end

• Prepare and post period end journal entries to ensure accurate and timely recording of all costs.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations, investigate and resolve reconciling items promptly.
• Analyze and explain variances to budget and prior year for key expense categories.
• Assist in preparing reports to communicate performance to management.

Business partnering

• Identify overspend drivers, perform ad hoc analysis, and develop recommendations to reduce financial risks.
• Build and develop stakeholder relationships within the Retail team.
• Support budgeting and forecasting, collaborating with the Commercial Finance team.

Compliance and controls

• Participate in year-end processes, audit deliverables, and serve as a key contact during audits.
• Support the development of a strong control environment by identifying and implementing process improvements.

Other

• Engage in non-routine project work within the finance team as needed.
