Job summary

NXTGEN is supporting a growing business in Thetford in their search for an Assistant Management Accountant to bolster the finance team. The role covers month-end processes, reporting and broader finance activities, offering hands-on experience in management accounting within a collaborative environment.

You will work across monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, stock reporting, and budgeting/forecasting, interacting with operational teams to deliver clear financial insight

Qualifications

• Studying AAT/ACCA/CIMA (or qualified by experience).
• Experience in a finance team; product/manufacturing exposure advantageous.
• Confident with Excel (lookups, pivots) and familiar with accounting systems.
• Detail-driven, organised, and proactive with a willingness to learn.
• Strong communicator able to work effectively with non-finance stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly management accounts: journals, accruals, prepayments, and ledger close
• Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations; investigate variances
• Support stock reporting/reconciliations and margin/overhead analysis
• Help produce weekly/monthly reporting packs for senior stakeholders
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting and cashflow reporting
• Liaise with operational teams to provide clear financial insight
• Assist with year-end and audit deliverables
• Get involved in process improvements and ad-hoc analysis
