Job summary

Trostan Dene Ltd. has a permanent opening for an Assistant Management Accountant in Haslingden.

You will support the Finance Manager with monthly management accounts and a clear progression path toward Management Accountant as you gain qualification. Joining the finance team, you will take ownership of month-end activities, assist with budgets and forecasts, and help with VAT, ESL, Intrastat and other compliance reporting while developing in a growing business offering hybrid working after a

Qualifications

• Studying towards AAT/CIMA/ACCA.
• Previous experience in an accounts assistant or assistant accountant role.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end activities, including journals for accruals, prepayments, depreciation, payroll and other adjustments.
• Maintain and reconcile accruals, prepayments and fixed asset schedules.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Support VAT, ESL, Intrastat and other compliance reporting.
• Assist with annual budgets and forecasts, working with budget holders and operational teams.
• Analyse actuals against budget, forecast and prior periods, highlighting variances, risks and opportunities.
• Analyse manufacturing variances across materials, labour, overheads, yield and usage.
• Support stock checks, stocktakes, inventory valuation and investigation of stock discrepancies.
• Prepare audit schedules, statutory accounts information and respond to audit queries.
• Manage bank reconciliations, support credit control, process purchase invoices and prepare supplier payment runs.
