Change Recruitment are pleased to be working with a growing business based in Taunton, Somerset, seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join the finance team and report to the Head of Finance.

The role focuses on producing monthly management accounts, developing cost reporting, and supporting month-end processes. You will build internal relationships, leverage Excel to generate insightful reports, and contribute to year-end and statutory duties.

Qualifications

• Experience producing sets of management accounts.
• Strong systems experience and confident in MS Excel to generate reports.

Responsabilités

• Prepare monthly management accounts accurately and to agreed deadlines.
• Maintain and develop cost centre and departmental reporting.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare and post accruals, prepayments, depreciation and other month-end journals.
• Support the monthly close process and maintain appropriate month-end schedules and controls.
• Analyse actual performance against budget, forecast and prior periods, providing clear explanations for material variances.
• Support stock accounting and inventory control.
• Produce meaningful financial and operational analysis.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow reporting.
• Support the development of management information, KPIs and Board reporting.
• Assist with VAT returns and other statutory or regulatory finance requirements.
• Support year-end accounts preparation.
• Develop effective working relationships with colleagues across all departments.
