White Horse Employment are delighted to be partnering with a well-established and fast-paced business based in Swindon who are looking to appoint an ambitious Assistant Management Accountant.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing finance team within a leading organisation, offering strong development opportunities and a clear pathway towards a Management Accountant role. You’ll be joining a collaborative and commercially-focused finance function where you will play a key role in driving financial accuracy, insight, and control.

Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will support day-to-day financial operations, month-end reporting, and help deliver high-quality financial data to aid strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts, including journal entries, accruals, and prepayments
• Maintain an accurate trial balance and support a timely month-end close
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, and ensure compliance with internal controls
• Manage processes related to stock accounting, debtors/creditors, and various incentive reconciliations
• Analyse key performance data, produce insightful reports, and contribute to commentary for senior stakeholders
• Work cross-functionally to resolve queries and support financial accuracy across operational teams
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and process improvement initiatives across the finance function
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external audit requirements

What We’re Looking For:

• Sound understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting up to trial balance
• Strong Excel skills (including VLOOKUP and pivot tables) and confidence working with data
• Experience with accounting or ERP systems
• AAT Level 4 qualified as a minimum, or working towards ACCA/CIMA
