SF Partners are recruiting for an Assistant Management Accountant to join a growing finance team in North Nottingham. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity with genuine long-term potential, offering the successful candidate the chance to develop their management accounting experience and progress into a Management Accountant position as the role and business continue to grow.

The longer-term vision is for this position to become a permanent Management Accountant role, with increasing responsibility

Formación

• Experience in an Assistant Management Accountant or similar finance role.
• Good understanding of month-end processes, including journals and reconciliations.
• Strong Excel skills with attention to detail.

Responsabilidades

• Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts.
• Preparing and posting journals, accruals, prepayments and other month-end adjustments.
• Completing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating discrepancies.
• Supporting month-end processes and ensuring financial information is accurate and up to date.
• Assisting with the transition to Sage 200 and new processes.
• Supporting purchase ledger, sales ledger and bank reconciliation activities.
• Monitoring costs and ensuring transactions are recorded and allocated.
• Supporting WIP calculations and providing information for financial reporting.
• Working with colleagues across the business to resolve queries and improve processes.
• Developing understanding of the wider business and taking on additional responsibilities over time.

Assistant Management Accountant

North Nottingham - Full Time - Office Based

c£40,000

Temp-to-Perm

Initially, you'll provide hands-on support across the finance function, working closely with the existing team on month-end, management accounts and day-to-day accounting activities. You'll also be involved in the introduction of a new finance system, providing an opportunity to develop your systems knowledge and contribute to improving processes.

The longer-term vision is for this position to become a permanent Management Accountant role, with increasing responsibility as you build your knowledge of the business and develop your skills.

The role will include:

• Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts.
• Preparing and posting journals, accruals, prepayments and other month-end adjustments.
• Completing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating discrepancies.
• Supporting month-end processes and ensuring financial information is accurate and up to date.
• Assisting with the transition to Sage 200, including reconciliations, data accuracy and new processes.
• Supporting purchase ledger, sales ledger and bank reconciliation activities.

About you:

• Previous experience in an Assistant Management Accountant, Assistant Accountant or similar finance role.
• Good understanding of month-end processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Confident working across both management accounting and transactional finance.
• Good Excel skills and strong attention to detail.
• Experience using Sage 200 would be advantageous, although experience with other accounting systems will be considered.
• Someone keen to develop their management accounting experience and progress into a broader role.
• Organised, proactive and comfortable taking ownership of their workload.
