Job summary

JSS in Manchester is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join a growing finance team. This role is ideal for a part-qualified accountant looking to grow their management accounting experience in a commercially focused environment.

You will support month-end close, prepare journals, reconciliations and cash management, and contribute to budgeting and forecasting. The successful candidate will have momentum toward becoming a fully qualified Management Accountant.

Qualifications

• Part-qualified ACCA, CIMA or ACA or early stage studier.
• Experience as Accounts Assistant or similar.
• Strong month-end accounting and balance sheet reconciliation experience.
• Proficient in Excel and finance systems.
• Detail-oriented with a proactive approach.
• Keen to develop toward fully qualified Management Accountant.

Responsibilities

• Assist with month-end close and production of management accounts.
• Prepare and post journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate outstanding items.
• Perform bank reconciliations and support cash management.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Help improve finance processes, controls and reporting.
• Work closely with colleagues across finance and the wider business.

JSS are recruiting for an Assistant Management Accountant to join a growing finance team in Manchester. This is a great opportunity for a part-qualified accountant looking to develop their management accounting experience within a commercially focused environment.

The Role

Working closely with the wider finance team, you will support the production of accurate monthly accounts and take responsibility for a variety of month-end and financial accounting activities.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with the month-end close and preparation of management accounts
• Preparing and posting journals, accruals and prepayments
• Completing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating outstanding items
• Performing bank reconciliations and supporting cash management
• Supporting cash and banking activities, including monitoring cash positions
• Reviewing and processing employee expenses
• Assisting with variance analysis and providing commentary where required
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities
• Helping improve finance processes, controls and reporting
• Working closely with colleagues across finance and the wider business

Profile

We are looking for someone who:

• Is ideally part-qualified ACCA, CIMA or ACA or early stage studier
• Has previous experience as an Accounts Assistant or similar role
• Has strong practical experience of month-end accounting and balance sheet reconciliations
• Is confident working with Excel and finance systems
• Has strong attention to detail and a proactive approach
• Is keen to develop towards becoming a fully qualified Management Accountant
