Assistant Management Accountant

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Management Accountant to join our team in Manchester. The role will be key in supporting the management accounting function, providing valuable financial insights, and contributing to developing a high-caliber finance team.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare the monthly management accounts for several entities, including providing supporting analysis where required.
2. Ensure all month-end journals are accurate and supported by adequate documentation.
3. Assist in producing consolidated monthly management accounts through posting journals, ensuring accurate cost/revenue allocations.
4. Produce and maintain monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations where required.
5. Work closely with transactions and payroll teams to ensure costs and income are accounted for correctly.
6. Identify opportunities for process improvement within the finance department and collaborate with colleagues to implement and document these improvements.
7. Assist in audits, addressing inquiries, and providing necessary supporting information.

About You:

1. Proven ability to influence and challenge effectively.
2. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
3. Experience in management accounts production and optimization.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
5. Ability to organize and prioritize workload effectively.
6. Experience in a similar role; part-qualified candidates are preferred.
7. Knowledge of law firms is preferred.
8. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
