Job description

About the role:

Help provide the financial insight that keeps our Society moving

Behind every successful business is a team making sure the numbers add up, the information is accurate and decisions are supported by meaningful financial insight.

We're looking for an Assistant Management Accountant to join our Finance team at the Support Centre in Lincoln, helping to deliver accurate financial information and maintain the strong controls that support our diverse family of businesses.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with finance experience who enjoys working with detail, solving problems and building a broad understanding of how a large and varied organisation operates.

Where every day brings something different

One day you could be supporting month-end activities and preparing reconciliations. The next, you might be investigating variances, resolving queries with colleagues or helping improve a financial process.

You'll work closely with colleagues across Finance and the wider Society, ensuring financial information is accurate, reliable and delivered to the people who need it.

Alongside the day-to-day responsibilities, you'll have opportunities to develop your accounting knowledge, contribute ideas for improvement and build experience across a wide range of financial activities.

And you won't be doing it alone.

You'll be part of a supportive team that values collaboration, continuous improvement and helping colleagues succeed.

Where attention to detail makes a real difference

Because this role isn't simply about processing transactions.

It's about understanding the story behind the numbers, identifying opportunities to improve and helping the Society make informed decisions for the future.

And ultimately, your work will help us deliver our purpose: bringing together energy, ideas and resources to make life better in our communities by:

  • Supporting monthly reporting activities and helping ensure financial information is accurate and delivered on time.
  • Preparing journals, reconciliations and supporting documentation to maintain strong financial controls.
  • Investigating financial queries, discrepancies and variances, working with colleagues to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Producing reports and analysis, maintaining data accuracy and supporting audit requirements.
  • Working collaboratively across Finance and the wider Society while identifying opportunities to improve processes and ways of working.

Most importantly, you'll be someone who takes pride in producing accurate work, enjoys working collaboratively and is always looking for ways to improve processes and add value.

In addition to working for a successful co-operative business, you'll receive a range of benefits designed to recognise your contribution and support you both inside and outside of work.
