Job summary

Heap & Co - Accountancy & Finance Recruitment Specialists in Huntingdon is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join a growing finance team. You will work closely with the Financial Controller, gaining broad exposure across management accounting, financial reporting, business partnering, analysis and process improvement.

This role is ideal for a part-qualified accountant looking to accelerate development in a commercially focused environment, with study support and clear progression.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years' experience within a finance environment.
• Experience supporting the production of management accounts.
• Active studies towards ACCA, CIMA, ACA or AAT qualifications.
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
• Experience using ERP/accounting systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Power BI exposure.
• Understanding of accounting standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly management accounts and financial reporting packs.
• Prepare and post journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations.
• Payroll and intercompany reconciliations.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Deliver insightful financial analysis and variance commentary.
• Assist with annual audit preparation.
• Partner with internal stakeholders across the business.
• Contribute to finance transformation, process improvement and cost-saving initiatives.

• Preparing and posting journals, accruals and prepayments
• Completing balance sheet reconciliations
• Payroll and intercompany reconciliations
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes

• Assisting with annual audit preparation

About You

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical foundations with a proactive attitude and a desire to progress.

You'll ideally have:
