Job Title:

Assistant Management Accountant

Location:

Glasgow (City FM Head Office)

Contract Type:

Permanent (Hybrid - 4 days office, 1 day home)

An exciting opportunity has emerged for a skilled Assistant Management Accountant to join our company, working on one of our major UK supermarket contracts.

To support the Management Accountant and Finance Manager in the production of monthly accounts and to reconcile and maintain clean balance sheet reconciliations.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Working closely with the Management Accountant and Senior Management Accountant to ensure department deadlines and targets are met.
  2. Preparing and posting month-end journals within tight deadlines.
  3. Posting and reconciling accruals and prepayments.
  4. Maintaining the Fixed Asset Register and posting depreciation.
  5. Recording P&L transactions at month-end.
  6. Checking costs and preparing sections of management accounts.
  7. Reconciling balance sheet accounts.
  8. Controlling WIP Balance sheet accounts and ensuring submission for approval and billing.
  9. Responding to information and analysis requests from operational colleagues.
  10. Assisting with audit preparations and supporting external auditors during fieldwork.
Qualifications / Experience:

Essential:

  • Experience in a finance department.
  • Candidate may be working towards a professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, AAT, CIMA) or be qualified at Degree, HNC, HND level, or equivalent.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
