Assistant Management Accountant

The company is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to support the Financial Controller and play a key role in the financial operations across several sites. This is a varied and hands-on role offering wide exposure to management accounts, purchase ledger, and project work - perfect for someone wanting to work towards a professional qualification (ACCA).

What you'll be doing:

1. Managing day-to-day finances across multiple operating sites
2. Processing supplier invoices and ensuring accurate allocation using Sage Paperless
3. Reconciling supplier statements and resolving invoice queries
4. Preparing the monthly payment run
5. Reconciling bank feeds and finalising month-end balances in Sage
6. Supporting the month-end close, including producing reports and reconciling the balance sheet
7. Assisting with VAT return preparation
8. Getting involved in exciting ad hoc projects - including cost analysis across sites

What we're looking for:

1. Previous experience in a busy Accounts Assistant or Finance Assistant role
2. Strong numerical skills and attention to detail
3. Confidence working with accounting systems - Sage 50 knowledge is a bonus
4. Some exposure to month-end processes would be advantageous
5. A team player with a proactive attitude and a desire to learn
