Job summary

Pioneer Selection is partnering with a leading UK manufacturer to recruit an Assistant Maintenance Engineer for a highly automated facility in Bletchley. The role offers £38,500 basic salary, overtime and a bonus, with 12-hour day and night continental shift patterns.

You will support the engineering team with planned preventive maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, fault finding and continuous improvement projects to maximise plant reliability and production efficiency.

Qualifications

• Mechanical or electrical engineering bias required.
• Minimum NVQ or C&G Level 2 Engineering qualification.
• Engineering experience within a UK manufacturing/industrial/Armed Forces REME environment.
• Good attitude and work ethic.
• Desirable: experience in automated environments.
• Desire for ex-forces engineers to apply.
• Experience working on production or industrial machinery.

Responsibilities

• Assist with PPM and reactive maintenance on automated production machinery.
• Investigate faults, perform fault finding and implement corrective actions.
• Support continuous improvement projects to maximise plant reliability and production efficiency.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to meet production targets and maintain equipment performance.

Assistant Maintenance Engineer – Location: Bletchley. Salary: £38,500 + overtime + bonus. Shift: 12-hour days & nights (continental shift pattern). This role offers training and progression into a fully qualified Multi-Skilled Engineer within a highly automated production facility.

You will support the engineering team with planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, breakdown response, fault finding and continuous improvement projects to maximise plant reliability and production efficiency.

• Assist with PPM and reactive maintenance on state-of-the-art automated production machinery.
• Investigate faults, perform fault finding and implement effective corrective actions.
• Support continuous improvement projects to maximise plant reliability and production efficiency.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to meet production targets and maintain equipment performance.
• Assist with rolling maintenance plans and liaise with operations to minimise downtime.

Essential Requirements

• Mechanical or Electrical engineering bias.
• Minimum NVQ or C&G Level 2 Engineering qualification.
• Engineering experience within a UK manufacturing, industrial, production or Armed Forces (REME, Army, Navy, RAF) environment.
• Good attitude and work ethic.

Desirable

• Previous factory or manufacturing maintenance experience within an automated environment.
• Ex-Forces engineers encouraged to apply (RAF, REME, Royal Navy or Marine Engineering backgrounds).
• Experience working on production or industrial machinery.
