Job summary

McMullen's is seeking an Assistant Kitchen Manager for a busy pub within our Classic Pubs concept. You will help deliver the food concept to standard and support the Head Chef to run a smooth kitchen while developing the team to reach their potential.

The role suits someone who stays calm under pressure, with previous kitchen experience and a desire to grow within a family-run business that rewards dedication and excellence.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a busy kitchen is essential.
• Keen to develop, take on responsibility and stay calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the food concept to company standard and exceed guest expectations.
• Oversee stock management including ordering, deliveries, stock taking and wastage control.
• Support Head Chef in smooth kitchen operation and deputise in their absence.
• Train and develop the kitchen team to reach their potential.
• Ensure Food Safety and Health & Safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities of a Assistant Kitchen Manager

• Delivering the food concept to company standard and exceeding guest expectations
• All aspects of food stock control including ordering, deliveries, stock taking and control of wastage
• Supporting the Head Chef in the smooth running of the kitchen and deputising in their absence
• Training and developing the kitchen team so that they can reach their potential
• All aspects of Food Safety and Health & Safety compliance in accordance with the law and company policy

Previous experience of working within a busy kitchen is essential. You must be keen to develop, willing to take on responsibility and remain calm under pressure.
