Job summary

Aldwych Consulting is seeking an Assistant-Intermediate Building Surveyor in London. Hybrid working and a salary up to £45k reflect the role's responsibility and progression toward APC. You will work on diverse private-sector projects, supporting senior surveyors and developing client relationships.

The position offers exposure to commercial, industrial and high-end residential work, with APC support and a collaborative team environment to help you advance to chartership.

Qualifications

• Experience in private sector commercial consultancy.
• Exposure to schedules of condition, dilapidations, inspections and contract administration.
• MRICS qualification or working towards it.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage workload independently within a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Produce photographic schedules of condition.
• Carry out dilapidations instructions.
• Undertake site inspections and snagging surveys.
• Assist with building surveys and technical reporting.
• Support contract administration duties.
• Assist with project management on refurbishment and maintenance schemes.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and project teams throughout the lifecycle.

Assistant-Intermediate Building Surveyor

London | Hybrid Working | Salary up to £45k

Looking to take the next step in your Building Surveying career with a consultancy that offers genuine variety, responsibility and support?

We're working with a well-established and highly respected building consultancy that's looking to add an Assistant Building Surveyor to its growing London team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone working towards their APC, or a newly qualified Building Surveyor, to gain exposure to a broad range of private sector projects while working alongside experienced professionals.

You'll be joining a close-knit team where you'll have the opportunity to take ownership of your work, develop your technical skills and build towards chartership in a supportive environment.

The Role

You'll work across a diverse portfolio of commercial, industrial, laboratory and high-end residential properties, supporting senior surveyors while developing your own client relationships and project experience.

• Producing photographic schedules of condition
• Carrying out dilapidations instructions
• Undertaking site inspections and snagging surveys
• Assisting with building surveys and technical reporting
• Supporting contract administration duties
• Assisting with project management on multi-million-pound refurbishment and maintenance schemes.
• Liaising with clients, contractors and project teams throughout the project lifecycle

About You

We're keen to speak with Building Surveyors who have:

• Experience within a private sector commercial consultancy
• Exposure to schedules of condition, dilapidations, inspections and contract administration
• Newly MRICS qualified or working towards it
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• The ability to manage their workload independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
