We are seeking a motivated Assistant Import Merchandiser to join the Production team based in our Maldon Office.

Who are we?:

The Blues Group is one of the UK’s leading Apparel License suppliers. Our brands and what we do is pretty specialised, we have 5 different divisions that make up our group: Dennicci (Babywear), Blues Clothing (Toddler Daywear), Blues Nightwear (Kids & Adult Nightwear), Blues Dressing up, and Brecrest (Baby & Teen Sportswear).

As a license supplier, we have the privilege to work with some amazing licenses such as Disney, Bluey, Peppa Pig & Peter Rabbit.

So, what will the role involve and what will you do?

This position works in partnership with the production, sales, design, warehousing and finance teams across our offices.

Core to the role is providing a high level of support, impeccable attention to detail and administrative skills to achieve the delivery of product for the right cost at the right time, maintaining the highest level of service and quality for our customers ensuring the Group standards are always met. You will contribute and support the business to achieve agreed objectives, commercial success, and organisational growth in line with the Group’s business strategy.

Key Accountabilities / Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing the production process, from order placement through to manufacture and delivery of products.
  • Support the management of key customer accounts, ensuring all orders are fulfilled to specification and within agreed timeframes.
  • Demonstrate a basic knowledge of fabrications, print techniques, and production processes.
  • Support critical path management, helping to ensure deadlines are met and customer portals are kept updated.
  • Attend weekly critical path meetings with factories.
  • Develop an understanding of the supply base and its capabilities.
  • Build knowledge of key customer accounts and relationships.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, ensuring effective communication of relevant information.
  • Attend customer meetings when required.
  • Participate in internal handover meetings with production, design, and sales teams.
  • Assist in reviewing contracts to ensure VCP quantities and prices are correct and agreed with the sales team.
  • Liaise with factories to confirm they can meet customer order requirements.
  • Work alongside the technical team on packaging information, ensuring factories can order the correct packaging on time from nominated suppliers or source locally where appropriate.
  • Ensure fabric qualities, strike-offs, lab dips, bulk fabric, and trims are submitted and approved in line with critical path timelines.
  • Collaborate with the wider production team to ensure sampling, sealing, and testing requirements are completed within the critical path.
  • Where required, liaise with customers for approval requests to move goods and update customer systems accordingly.
  • Authorise factories to ship goods and update systems once gold seal and AQL approval have been received.
  • Assist in requesting packing lists and factory invoices, ensuring all documentation is received and matches customer contracts.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date information in the group system to support wider business reporting.
