An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Human Capital Manager to join a globally respected management consulting firm based in London. This role offers you the chance to make a significant impact within a collaborative and high-performing team supporting over 700 employees across the UK and Ireland. As part of the Human Capital Operations team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping employee relations, driving policy improvements, and providing expert guidance to both managers and staff. The organisation is renowned for its commitment to professional growth, inclusive culture, and flexible working opportunities, making it an ideal environment for those who are passionate about people and organisational excellence. If you are looking for a position where your expertise will be valued and your contributions will help shape the future of a leading consultancy, this is the perfect next step in your career.

• Join a global leader in management consulting with a strong reputation for thought leadership and professional development opportunities, offering exposure to complex human capital challenges across multiple business areas.
• Enjoy flexible hybrid working arrangements with three days per week in a modern London office, allowing you to balance professional responsibilities with personal commitments while collaborating closely with talented colleagues.
• Be at the heart of employee relations strategy, supporting senior stakeholders, developing policies, managing ER cases end-to-end, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives that drive organisational success.

What you'll do:
As an Assistant Human Capital Manager, you will immerse yourself in a varied role that places you at the centre of people operations for a diverse workforce. Your day-to-day activities will involve close collaboration with management teams to address human capital challenges proactively. You will be responsible for guiding stakeholders through complex employee relations scenarios, providing clear advice that balances organisational objectives with individual needs. In addition to managing ER cases from start to finish, you will deliver impactful training sessions designed to empower managers with the knowledge they need to navigate sensitive situations effectively. Your expertise will also be called upon when updating policies or supporting audit processes. By acting as a trusted advisor within the team, you will ensure that all human capital practices reflect current legislation and industry standards while fostering an inclusive workplace culture where everyone can thrive.

• Consulting with management and key stakeholders to provide daily human capital guidance tailored to business needs across the UK and Ireland.
• Offering expert counsel on complex employee relations matters, ensuring fair and consistent resolution of issues while maintaining compliance with company policies.
• Managing end-to-end employee relations casework by delivering pragmatic advice and effective solutions that foster positive workplace relationships.
• Delivering training sessions and coaching managers on employee relations topics to enhance their confidence and capability in handling sensitive matters.
• Providing comprehensive guidance on human capital policies, ensuring all procedures are up-to-date and aligned with best practices.
• Acting as the escalation point for Human Capital Coordinators and Generalists on intricate operational issues that require advanced problem-solving skills.
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives in employee relations policies and processes so they remain relevant, effective, and supportive of organisational goals.
• Coaching and upskilling managers to handle employee relations matters confidently while promoting a supportive work environment.
• Managing flexible working requests from initial application through appeal proceedings, ensuring transparency and fairness throughout the process.
• Supporting internal and external audits by preparing documentation, responding to queries, and implementing recommendations as needed.

What you bring:
To excel as an Assistant Human Capital Manager, you will bring substantial experience from previous roles where you have managed complex HR matters within large-scale organisations. Your background should include direct involvement in employee relations casework as well as policy development. A solid educational foundation—ideally supported by CIPD Level 7 accreditation—will underpin your technical knowledge. You are adept at using Microsoft Office tools for analysis and presentation purposes. Experience with Workday or similar HRIS platforms would further enhance your effectiveness. Beyond technical skills, your interpersonal abilities set you apart: you communicate clearly at all levels, build rapport quickly with stakeholders, and demonstrate empathy when addressing sensitive concerns. Your approach is always collaborative—you thrive when working together towards shared goals—and your commitment to continuous learning ensures you stay ahead of industry trends. With your dependable nature and passion for nurturing positive workplace cultures, you are ready to make a meaningful contribution from day one.

• Previous experience in Human Resources within either a HR Manager or Business Partner capacity with a Professional Services background would be advantageous.
• Demonstrated expertise in handling complex employee relations matters within large organisations is required.
• Experience working within professional services environments is preferred; however, backgrounds from other sizeable companies will also be considered favourably.
• A proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while remaining productive and adaptable in performance-driven settings is vital.
• A Bachelor’s degree or higher level of education would be beneficial for this position.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications—particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Familiarity with Workday HR systems would be advantageous but not essential.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are expected alongside sound judgement when resolving sensitive issues.
• A collaborative approach combined with strong client relationship skills is crucial for building trust both internally and externally.
