Job summary

Rochdale Council in Greater Manchester is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Manager to work in one of our children’s homes for young people with disabilities. You will support care staff, promote wellbeing and inclusion, and ensure high standards of person-centred care.

The role requires at least 2 years' experience with children and young people, NVQ/Diploma Level 3 or equivalent, and ideally Level 4 or 5 leadership qualifications.

Qualifications

• NVQ/Diploma Level 3 in Working with Children and Young People or equivalent is required.
• Diploma Level 4 or higher in Leadership & Management is preferred.
• Diploma Level 5 in Leadership & Management is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supervise workers on a regular basis and undertake annual appraisals.
• Deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager.
• Monitor, review and audit systems to ensure Ofsted compliance and safeguarding standards.
• Promote emotional health, wellbeing and inclusion for children and young people.
