Job summary

Invigor Adolescent Care is seeking a Residential Children's Home Manager to lead daily operations for a home in Blackley, Manchester, ensuring high-quality care for children up to 17. You will supervise staff, maintain Ofsted readiness, and uphold the seven quality standards with a person-centred approach.

You will hold a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or be working towards it) and bring substantial experience in residential settings, including

Qualifications

• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).
• Minimum 2 years' experience in residential childcare, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or management role.
• Sound knowledge of the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the wider looked-after children framework.
• Proven experience working with children with complex needs, trauma, and emotional and behavioural difficulties.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and experience managing allegations and child protection concerns.
• Excellent communication, record keeping, and organisational skills.
• Enhanced DBS check required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day management and operation of a residential children's home.
• Ensure full compliance with the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and all seven Quality Standards.
• Hold Ofsted registration as Registered Manager and maintain the home's Statement of Purpose.
• Lead, supervise, and develop a dedicated staff team including senior support workers and a deputy manager.
• Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead for the home.
• Oversee care planning for all children, ensuring plans are person-centred, up to date, and regularly reviewed.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with placing authorities, social workers, IROs, CAMHS, and education providers.
• Drive continuous improvement through robust quality assurance, auditing, and reflective practice.
• Manage statutory notifications to Ofsted and lead the home through inspections with confidence.
