Job summary

Batley Grammar School is seeking an experienced Assistant Headteacher and SENDCO to lead inclusive provision across our all-through school from Reception to Year 11. The candidate will model best practice, evaluate SEND provision, and shape the strategic direction of our SEND strategy in partnership with the Headteacher and Trust SEND Lead.

The role requires QTS with NASENCO/NPQ toward SENDCOs qualification, or an experienced SENDCO actively pursuing it, and a proven commitment to equity,

Qualifications

• QTS with NASENCO/NPQ for SENDCOs qualification or current SENDCO with progression toward it.
• Strong strategic leadership and a commitment to inclusive practice across primary and secondary phases.
• Ability to influence and collaborate with senior leaders, Trust SEND Lead, and external agencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead inclusive provision across the all-through school (Reception to Year 11).
• Evaluate provision and shape the strategic direction of the SEND strategy.
• Collaborate with the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team to ensure continuity of support.
• Drive inclusion, equity, and high expectations for learners with SEND across both phases.
