Job summary

Silsden Primary School in West Yorkshire seeks an ambitious, non-class based Assistant Headteacher to lead Inclusion and SEND, joining the Senior Leadership Team.

You will drive inclusive teaching, monitor progress for vulnerable pupils, and collaborate with families and external agencies to raise achievement.

The post requires NPQ SENCO (or equivalent) or willingness to train; closing date 9am, Monday 19th October 2026; DBS checks apply.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of successful primary teaching across KS1–KS2.
• Has NPQ SENCO award or is willing to train and obtain it.
• Excellent classroom practitioner with strong strategic leadership.
• Strong communication and partnership with parents and external agencies.

Responsibilities

• Strategic leadership of inclusion across the school.
• Leading provision for pupils with SEND, disadvantaged pupils and vulnerable groups.
• Monitoring progress, provision and outcomes for vulnerable pupils and those with additional needs.
• Working collaboratively with families, external agencies and professionals.
• Leading staff development to strengthen inclusive teaching, adaptive practice and impactful interventions.
