Job summary

Walker Riverside Academy is recruiting an Assistant Headteacher (SEND) to join the Senior Leadership Team and drive inclusive education across the academy. The role focuses on strategic SEND leadership, inclusion, and supporting students with additional needs, including involvement with the ARP.

Starting January 2027, the post offers opportunities to influence teaching methods and school-wide practices, with a commitment to safeguarding and high professional standards.

Assistant Headteacher (SEND) L12 - L16 £67,898 - £75,049 per annum (Starting Salary dependent upon experience)

Required for January 2027

We are seeking to appoint an ambitious and highly motivated Assistant Headteacher to work as part of the Senior Leadership Team at an exciting time in our school development, working alongside our SLT in a school that has distinct positive values that both staff and students embody. This role offers the opportunity to lead whole-school SEND provision while working alongside colleagues across the academy to deliver an ambitious and truly inclusive education.

As Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for SEND and Inclusion, you will:

• Provide strategic leadership for SEND and inclusion across the academy
