Job summary

ACE Schools Plymouth is seeking an experienced Assistant Headteacher to lead teaching, safeguarding and SEMH provision across multiple sites in Plymouth. You will work closely with the Executive Headteacher to drive school improvement and ensure outstanding pupil outcomes.

The successful candidate will be a resilient, compassionate leader with QTS, middle/senior leadership experience, and a strong track record in safeguarding and staff development.

Qualifications

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Experience in middle or senior leadership.
  • Experience monitoring and improving teaching, learning and pupil outcomes.
  • Experience managing and motivating staff teams.
  • Strong safeguarding responsibilities understanding.
  • Willingness to travel between sites when required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop teaching, safeguarding and SEMH provision.
  • Support delivery of the school's vision and ethos across sites.
  • Drive high standards of achievement, behaviour, attendance and personal development.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching and learning using data.
  • Lead, motivate and manage a multidisciplinary team.
  • Develop and implement improvement and development plans.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding requirements and policies.
  • Oversee pupil admissions, transitions and provision planning.
  • Build relationships with parents, carers and external agencies.
  • Lead staff appraisal, performance management and professional development.
  • Contribute strategically as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
