Hours of work: 40 hours per week

Aldwark Manor Estate is a privately owned hotel with golf nestled in a picturesque village between York and Harrogate. Set in 200 acres of beautiful countryside, this luxury hotel provides a complete escape for both business and leisure guests and is a popular venue for weddings.

Over the last few years, the hotel has undergone major renovations in the bedrooms, restaurant, residents lounge, sports bar, and all public areas. This year, we will start our new and opulent spa and state-of-the-art leisure areas, as well as new meeting rooms and an additional 24 bedrooms. The leisure facilities opening later this year with the new spa, bedrooms, and meeting space are scheduled for 2026.

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Head Housekeeper to join our team at Aldwark Manor Estate. This position is pivotal in supporting the housekeeping operation along with the Head Housekeeper, ensuring we maintain our 4 Silver Star AA rating and guest satisfaction in our rooms and public areas, supporting and managing the Housekeeping team in the absence of the Head Housekeeper.

Purpose of the role:

To ensure the smooth running of the Housekeeping department with the Housekeeping Manager.

Main duties include:

  • To ensure that high standards of cleanliness are maintained throughout the hotel, with the supervision and inspection of all guest rooms and areas.
  • To be fully aware of all hotel services and activities.
  • To allocate areas of cleaning daily, fairly, in accordance with hotel procedures and business needs.
  • To assist with linen stocktakes and be aware of linen procedures.
  • To ensure the correct use of cleaning agents on all surfaces.
  • To assist with periodic cleaning of areas as requested.
  • To adhere to security procedures regarding keys, stock, and property.
  • To report faults and damages to Maintenance.
  • To ensure all housekeeping equipment is used safely and effectively.
  • To follow safe and hygienic working practices to meet Health and Safety legislation.
  • To assist with guest room servicing and housekeeping operations as needed.
  • To manage lost property records and reports.
  • To assist with training team members.
  • To adhere to Health and Safety and fire procedures.
  • To comply with hotel and company rules as per the team member handbook.
  • To work effectively as part of a team and take initiative.
  • To organize and complete bedroom preparations efficiently, respecting internal procedures.
