Job summary

Pilgrim’s Europe is hiring an Assistant Hatchery Manager at Donaghmore Hatchery, Tyrone. This role focuses on driving hatchery operations, coordinating egg and chick logistics, and leading a team in a fast-paced environment.

You will work a 3-week rotating shift, ensure biosecurity and equipment maintenance, and contribute to continuous improvement in poultry production. This is a hands-on management role with growth opportunities within the hatchery department.

Qualifications

• To succeed in this role, you must have strong people management skills, organizational and communication abilities.
• A valid driving license for transport coordination is required.
• Proficiency in computer literacy and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Desirable: a third-level qualification in a relevant field; poultry management or livestock handling experience; basic mechanical aptitude.

Responsibilities

• Manage hatchery operations including egg handling, incubation, and chick dispatch.
• Train and lead hatchery staff to ensure efficient and compliant operations.
• Oversee transport logistics for eggs and chicks and vehicle maintenance schedules.
• Monitor hygiene standards and biosecurity protocols.
• Maintain and service hatchery equipment and keep production records.
