Job summary

Handpicked Recruitment is recruiting a Group Accountant for a 12-month fixed-term contract in Central London. The role sits in the group accounting team with hybrid working (1–2 days in the office).

Newly qualified or finalist ACA/ACCA with group consolidation experience is preferred, either from audit or industry. Exposure to technical accounting and group reporting will be advantageous.

Qualifications

• Newly qualified or finalist ACA/ACCA
• Consolidation experience essential (industry or audit)
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and core accounting principles
• Experience working with auditors
• Exposure to technical accounting or financial statements preparation advantageous
• Proactive, organised and able to meet reporting deadlines

Responsibilities

• Support the monthly group consolidation process
• Prepare monthly group management accounts and reporting
• Maintain financial results for a number of group and holding entities
• Assist with consolidation journals, intercompany adjustments, and reporting queries
• Support the year-end close and statutory reporting process
• Liaise with external auditors and respond to audit queries
• Assist with the annual budgeting process
• Work with international finance teams to ensure timely reporting
• Support technical accounting matters and ad hoc group finance projects
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting, controls and processes

Our client, a multinational commodities trading group, is looking for a Group Accountant to join its central London finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified or finalist ACA / ACCA accountant with group consolidation experience, either from an audit background or an existing industry role. The position offers broad exposure across group reporting, year-end, budgeting, and technical accounting within an international environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the monthly group consolidation process
• Prepare monthly group management accounts and reporting
