Job summary

Gleeson Homes is seeking a qualified Group Financial Accountant to join our finance team in Sheffield. You will lead monthly and year-end consolidation, prepare PLC accounts and support the operating divisions across the group.

You should have IFRS knowledge, 1–2 years post-qualification, and experience with group accounts. The role offers a collaborative environment and opportunities to contribute to statutory reporting and budgeting.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with 1–2 years PQE in practice or industry
• Strong IFRS knowledge and group accounting experience desirable
• Experience with consolidation and group accounts helpful
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities

• Monthly consolidation and preparation of Group results
• Half year results consolidation and interim accounts reporting
• Year end results consolidation and statutory financial statements including PLC consolidated accounts and 7 trading subsidiaries (IFRS)
• Consolidating the annual budget and preparing budget reporting packs
• Providing accounting support to the operating divisions
• Liaising with external auditors during the annual audit process
• Supporting timely completion of tax returns and payments
• Reporting the cash position of the Group through accurate daily tracking and forecasting
• Ad hoc projects / analysis as required

Job description

This role reports to the Senior Group Accountant and works closely with the Deputy Group Financial Controller and Group Financial Controller as part of a highly skilled and professional Group Finance team. This key role will be responsible for accurate and timely consolidated financial reporting for the Group.

Main Responsibilities:

• Monthly consolidation and preparation of Group results
• Half year results consolidation and interim accounts reporting
• Year end results consolidation and statutory financial statements including PLC consolidated accounts and 7 trading subsidiaries (all IFRS)
• Consolidating the annual budget and preparing budget reporting packs
• Providing accounting support to the operating divisions
• Liaising with external auditors during the annual audit process
• Supporting the timely completion of tax returns and payments
• Reporting the cash position of the Group through accurate daily tracking and forecasting
• Ad hoc projects / analysis as required

Candidate Profile:

• Qualified accountant, ideally 1-2 years post qualified experience
• Would suit a first-time mover from practice into industry
• Ideally Big 4 / Top 10 trained
• Strong technical accounting knowledge (IFRS)
• Experience with group accounts and consolidations would be helpful
• Generous holiday entitlement of 26 days per annum + bank holidays
