Mill Green Golf Club is seeking an Assistant Greenkeeper to join their team. Mill Green are part of Get Golfing CIO who owns and operates a network of golf courses across the country, providing golf enthusiasts with exceptional golfing experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the daily maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, and roughs
- Carry out mowing, raking, edging, divoting, and general turf care tasks
- Operate and maintain grounds maintenance machinery and hand tools safely
- Assist with irrigation, drainage, and turf renovation works (aeration, seeding, topdressing)
- Help prepare the course/grounds for competitions and events
- Monitor turf health and report any issues such as disease, pests, or damage
- Follow health & safety procedures and safe working practices at all times
- Support environmental and sustainability initiatives on site
- Undertake general groundskeeping and maintenance duties as required
REQUIREMENTS
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Passionate about golf and committed to delivering high standards
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively
Required Skills & Experience
Mandatory
- Interest in turf management, horticulture, or grounds maintenance
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and occasional overtime
- Strong work ethic and ability to work as part of a team
Desirable
- Previous experience in greenkeeping, grounds maintenance, or horticulture
- Experience operating mowing and turf machinery
Requirements
- Prior experience in golf course maintenance preferred
- Knowledge of turf maintenance and environmentally friendly practices
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
