Job summary

Mill Green Golf Club is seeking an Assistant Greenkeeper to join their team. The role involves daily greens maintenance, turf care, and preparation for events at Mill Green Golf Club, part of Get Golfing CIO's network.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for golf, be willing to work outdoors in all weather, and be able to work early mornings, weekends, and overtime while supporting environmental initiatives on site.

Qualifications

• Interest in turf management, horticulture, or grounds maintenance.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and occasional overtime.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work as part of a team.
• Previous experience in greenkeeping, grounds maintenance, or horticulture.
• Experience operating mowing and turf machinery.
• Weekend and Bank Holiday availability.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the daily maintenance of greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, and roughs
• Carry out mowing, raking, edging, divoting, and general turf care tasks
• Operate and maintain grounds maintenance machinery and hand tools safely
• Assist with irrigation, drainage, and turf renovation works (aeration, seeding, topdressing)
• Help prepare the course/grounds for competitions and events
• Monitor turf health and report any issues such as disease, pests, or damage
• Follow health & safety procedures and safe working practices at all times
• Support environmental and sustainability initiatives on site
• Undertake general groundskeeping and maintenance duties as required
