Job summary

Aspley Guise and Woburn Sands Golf Club (AGAWS) in Milton Keynes, Central England, is seeking an Assistant Greenkeeper to join our greenkeeping team and maintain our 18-hole course to peak standards.

You will support daily maintenance, operate modern machinery, and participate in renovation projects. NVQ Level 2 in Sports Turf Management is required; UK driving licence essential, PA certificates bonus; salary £27,000-£29,000 plus overtime.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Sports Turf Management required.
• Previous experience in greenkeeping or grounds maintenance preferred.
• PA1/PA2/PA6 spraying certificates would be a bonus.
• Full UK driving licence essential.

Responsibilities

• Daily course maintenance - mowing, divoting, bunker raking, turf care.
• Operating and maintaining modern greenkeeping machinery.
• Supporting renovation and improvement projects.
• Complying with all health and safety regulations.
• Contributing to a positive, hardworking team environment.
• Adopting a pro-active approach to course presentation and attention to detail.

Aspley Guise and Woburn Sands Golf Club (AGAWS) is a prestigious member owned parkland/heathland course located in Bedfordshire, renowned for its superb conditioning and welcoming atmosphere. We take pride in delivering a top-tier experience to our members and guests, and now we’re looking for a passionate Assistant Greenkeeper following the retirement of one of our team members after 36 years at the club.

The Role:

We’re on the hunt for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our experienced and dedicated greenkeeping team. You’ll play a key role in maintaining and enhancing our beautiful 18-hole championship course, ensuring it remains in peak condition all year round.

Key Responsibilities:

• Daily course maintenance - mowing, divoting, bunker raking, turf care


• Operating and maintaining modern greenkeeping machinery


• Supporting renovation and improvement projects

About You:

• NVQ Level 2 in Sports Turf Management as a minimum.


• Previous experience in greenkeeping or grounds maintenance preferred


• Passionate about course presentation, sustainability, and the outdoors


• Flexible and reliable - early mornings and weekend work required on a rota


• PA1, PA2, and PA6 spraying certificates would be a bonus


• Full UK driving licence essential
