Job summary

The Wild Rabbit in Kingham, Oxfordshire, part of The Bamford Collection, seeks an Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager in delivering an exceptional guest experience across The Wild Rabbit and Daylesford Stay Cottages.

This hands‑on leadership role works with the Restaurant Manager, Executive Chef and Sommelier; open to diverse backgrounds in hospitality. Hours are 48 per week; salary £46,500 per annum plus tron c.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in a high‑quality restaurant or luxury hospitality with leadership.
• Excellent understanding of restaurant operations and guest service.
• Strong leadership, coaching, communication and organisational skills.
• Wine knowledge; WSET Level 2 preferred.
• Calm, hands‑on and detail oriented with commercial awareness.
• Ambitious to progress to General Management.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands‑on leadership across Food & Beverage, maintaining exceptional standards.
• Lead and develop the team through coaching, training and support.
• Build guest relationships, anticipate needs and manage feedback.
• Collaborate with Restaurant Manager, Executive Chef and Sommelier for smooth operations.
• Use wine knowledge to support service and deputise for the Sommelier when required.
• Gain experience across luxury accommodation and guest journey.
• Develop commercial awareness across budgeting, forecasting, payroll, revenue and costs.
• Contribute to projects and leadership discussions.
