Job summary

JD Gyms is looking for an Assistant General Manager to support the day-to-day running of a club and work closely with the General Manager to maintain high standards. You will lead a team of Fitness Coaches and General Assistants, helping to achieve membership and commercial targets while delivering exceptional member experiences.

• Experience leading and developing colleagues within a leisure, fitness, hospitality or customer-focused environment.
• Strong commitment to excellent member service and leadership with coachable team-building ability.
• Qualified to at least Level 2 Gym Instructor and able to drive membership growth.

Responsibilities

• Ensure policies and procedures in Health and Safety and company handbook are followed.
• Recruit and manage Fitness Coaches and General Assistants to cover daily operations.
• Drive membership, revenue and commercial targets; maximise secondary spend.
• Maintain highest standards of cleanliness and safety; oversee weekly banking to reduce losses.
• Deliver outstanding member service and uphold brand standards across the club.

Working closely with the General Manager, you will help maintain high operational standards, support colleague development and contribute to achieving membership and commercial objectives.Through effective leadership, coaching and collaboration, you will help create a positive environment for colleagues and members, ensuring the club delivers exceptional experiences, strong operational performance and a safe, welcoming environment for all.Responsibilities:• Ensure that all policies and procedures in both the Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook are adhered to.• Responsible for adhering to and maintaining the JD Gyms Brand Standard.• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks. Report and chase all defects, to ensure the building and its equipment is safe to use.• Recruit and manage a team of employed Fitness Coaches and General Assistants to ensure the club is operational cover to ensure daily expectations are delivered.• Hold regular team meetings to aid development and keep everyone updated.• Support the achievement of membership, revenue and commercial targets.• To drive and maximise secondary spending revenue.• To ensure the whole of the gym facility is of the highest standard of cleanliness.• Ensure the in-house cleaners (General Assistant) are cleaning to the highest standard.
