Job summary

JD Gyms is expanding across the UK and seeking an Assistant General Manager to support day-to-day club operations. You will work with the General Manager to uphold high standards, lead and develop the team, and contribute to achieving membership and commercial targets.

You will recruit and manage Fitness Coaches and General Assistants, drive revenue, ensure health and safety compliance, and maintain club cleanliness while delivering exceptional member experiences.

• Experience leading and developing colleagues within leisure, fitness, hospitality or customer-focused environment.
• Strong commitment to delivering excellent member service and effective leadership.
• Experience contributing to membership growth and achieving business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Health and Safety and Company Procedures Handbook.
• Recruit, coach and manage Fitness Coaches and General Assistants.

Working closely with the General Manager, you will help maintain high operational standards, support colleague development and contribute to achieving membership and commercial objectives.Through effective leadership, coaching and collaboration, you will help create a positive environment for colleagues and members, ensuring the club delivers exceptional experiences, strong operational performance and a safe, welcoming environment for all.Responsibilities:• Ensure that all policies and procedures in both the Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook are adhered to.• Responsible for adhering to and maintaining the JD Gyms Brand Standard.• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks. Report and chase all defects, to ensure the building and its equipment is safe to use.• Recruit and manage a team of employed Fitness Coaches and General Assistants to ensure the club is operational cover to ensure daily expectations are delivered.• Hold regular team meetings to aid development and keep everyone updated.• Support the achievement of membership, revenue and commercial targets.• To drive and maximise secondary spending revenue.• To ensure the whole of the gym facility is of the highest standard of cleanliness.• Ensure the in-house cleaners (General Assistant) are cleaning to the highest standard.
