Job summary

JD Gyms is seeking a General Manager to lead a busy gym club, driving operational excellence, membership growth and a premium member experience. You will coach a team of Fitness Coaches and General Assistants, uphold health & safety standards, and deliver strong commercial results.

You will inspire a positive, inclusive club culture, manage day-to-day operations, and ensure service levels meet brand standards across all areas of the facility.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in a service-driven environment (fitness/leisure preferred).
• Strong people management and coaching capability.
• Track record of driving customer satisfaction and commercial performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate the club team to deliver outstanding member experiences.
• Conduct regular safety and compliance checks across the facility.
• Recruit, coach and manage Fitness Coaches and General Assistants to ensure daily operations.
• Hold regular team meetings to develop staff and communicate goals.
• Drive sales and membership growth, and maximise secondary revenue opportunities.
• Ensure cleanliness and high standards across the gym facilities and equipment.
• Oversee banking processes to minimise wastage and maximise profit.
• Ensure uniform standards and professional appearance across the team.

You will create a positive environment for colleagues and members while driving operational excellence, membership growth and commercial success.Through effective leadership, coaching and collaboration, you will support colleague development, maintain high standards and ensure the club delivers exceptional member experiences in a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment.Responsibilities:• Ensure that all policies and procedures in both the Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook are adhered to.• Responsible for adhering to and maintaining the JD Gyms Brand Standard.• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks. Report and chase all defects, to ensure the building and its equipment is safe to use.• Recruit and manage a team of employed Fitness Coaches and General Assistants to ensure the club is operational cover to ensure daily expectations are delivered.• Hold regular team meetings to aid development and keep everyone updated.• To work towards and aim to achieve all sales and membership targets that are set.• To drive and maximise secondary spending revenue.• To ensure the whole of the gym facility is of the highest standard of cleanliness.• Ensure the in-house cleaners (General Assistant) are cleaning to the highest standard.
