Job summary

JD Gyms in the UK is seeking an Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager in day-to-day club operations. You will lead a team of Fitness Coaches and General Assistants, uphold brand standards, deliver exceptional member experiences and drive commercial performance.

You will conduct safety checks, manage staffing, oversee banking and revenue targets, and promote a clean, welcoming environment for members and colleagues alike.

Qualifications

• Experience leading and developing colleagues in leisure, fitness or customer-focused environments.
• A proven track record in delivering great member service.
• Ability to coach and develop teams to improve performance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily, weekly and monthly safety checks to ensure a safe club.
• Recruit and manage a team of Fitness Coaches and General Assistants.
• Run regular team meetings to support development and communication.
• Drive membership growth, revenue, and local marketing efforts.
• Ensure cleanliness and high standards across all gym facilities.

Working closely with the General Manager, you will help maintain high operational standards, support colleague development and contribute to achieving membership and commercial objectives.Through effective leadership, coaching and collaboration, you will help create a positive environment for colleagues and members, ensuring the club delivers exceptional experiences, strong operational performance and a safe, welcoming environment for all.Responsibilities:• Ensure that all policies and procedures in both the Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook are adhered to.• Responsible for adhering to and maintaining the JD Gyms Brand Standard.• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks. Report and chase all defects, to ensure the building and its equipment is safe to use.• Recruit and manage a team of employed Fitness Coaches and General Assistants to ensure the club is operational cover to ensure daily expectations are delivered.• Hold regular team meetings to aid development and keep everyone updated.• Support the achievement of membership, revenue and commercial targets.• To drive and maximise secondary spending revenue.• To ensure the whole of the gym facility is of the highest standard of cleanliness.• Ensure the in-house cleaners (General Assistant) are cleaning to the highest standard.
