Role Overview:
Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment is representing a world-leading professional services firm in their search for an Assistant General Counsel to join their in-house legal team. The client seeks an experienced commercial lawyer focused on technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI. The successful candidate will provide practical, business-focused legal advice to the company's global business and corporate services partners.
Key Accountabilities:
- Provide legal support on a wide range of legal and regulatory matters for a global professional services organization.
- Advise on technology, data privacy, data protection, AI, and related matters; support day-to-day commercial and regulatory legal issues.
- Help ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations across jurisdictions and network policies.
- Support Technology and Risk Management teams with legal guidance.
- Develop and implement governance, policies, procedures, and playbooks.
- Review and advise on new services, solutions, and governance processes, focusing on legal and regulatory issues related to technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI.
- Manage external legal counsel in multiple jurisdictions efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Balance practical, business-oriented advice with risk management and compliance obligations.
- Present on legal topics and write articles.
- Mentor and support junior team members.
About You:
- UK-qualified lawyer (or equivalent outside the UK) with significant experience at a major law firm or relevant in-house experience.
- Expert legal skills with the ability to handle complex legal and regulatory issues.
- Strategic risk management skills, with the ability to identify issues and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Experience negotiating, drafting, reviewing transactions, and advising on laws across multiple jurisdictions.
- Ability to work independently and manage complex files while collaborating with teams.
- Ability to balance legal risk management with the needs of a fast-growing global business.
- Self-motivated, thriving in a fast-paced, stakeholder-rich environment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
