Role Overview:

Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment is representing a world-leading professional services firm seeking an Assistant General Counsel for their In-House Legal Team. The ideal candidate is an experienced commercial lawyer with expertise in technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI. The role involves providing practical, business-focused legal advice globally.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support legal and regulatory matters for a global professional services organization.
• Advise on technology, data privacy, data protection, AI, and related issues; support daily commercial and regulatory legal matters.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies across jurisdictions.
• Assist Technology and Risk Management teams with legal support.
• Develop and implement governance policies, procedures, and playbooks.
• Review and advise on new services, solutions, and related legal/regulatory issues.
• Manage external legal counsel across jurisdictions efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Provide practical advice balancing risk management and business needs.
• Create legal presentations and articles on pertinent topics.
• Mentor junior team members.

Candidate Profile:

• UK-qualified lawyer (or equivalent outside the UK) with significant experience at a major law firm or in-house.
• Expert legal skills, with the ability to lead complex legal and regulatory issues.
• Strong risk management and strategic thinking skills.
• Proficient in negotiating, drafting, and reviewing agreements across multiple jurisdictions.
• Capable of working independently and managing complex files while collaborating with teams.
• Ability to balance legal compliance with business growth.
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and effective in a fast-paced global environment.
