Job summary

Zachary Daniels is recruiting an Assistant Garment Technologist for a premium womenswear brand in Manchester. This hybrid role supports the garment technologists across the development cycle, ensuring fit, quality and compliance on premium products.

You will help with fit sessions, measure garments, maintain technical files and liaise with Design, Buying and Production teams to keep critical path timelines on track while continually improving fit and quality.

Qualifications

• Experience in Junior Garment Tech or Technical Assistant role in womenswear.
• Qualification in Clothing Technology or related discipline is desirable.
• Strong understanding of garment construction, fabrics and fit.
• Confident in measuring garments and interpreting technical specifications.
• Strong communication with ability to build relationships across teams and with suppliers.
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; PLM experience is an advantage.
• Positive, collaborative and eager to learn, with a passion for premium fashion.

Responsibilities

• Support Garment Technologists from development through to production.
• Assist with fit sessions by preparing samples, taking notes and updating fit comments.
• Measure garments and compare to technical specifications and size charts.
• Maintain accurate technical files, specifications and product records.
• Liaise with Design, Buying and Production teams to ensure clear communication.
• Review and monitor sample quality, escalating concerns as needed.
• Communicate with suppliers regarding fit, construction and quality comments.
• Assist with garment testing, care label approvals and product compliance documentation.
• Help ensure critical path deadlines by tracking samples and approvals.
• Contribute to continuous improvements in fit consistency, product quality and technical standards.

About You
