Job summary

Mountain Warehouse in London is seeking an assistant technologist to support multi-product women’s, men’s and childrenswear with a jersey focus. The successful candidate will oversee a small product area.

You will run fit meetings, manage testing and AQL programmes, and collaborate with the Garment Technologist to ensure fabric, construction and fit meet our quality standards. The role offers hybrid working with three days in the London office and two from home.

Qualifications

• Experience of at least 1 year in an assistant technologist role.
• Capable of fitting unaided.
• Experience testing reviews.
• Strong data management and reporting skills.
• Experience working with offshore suppliers.
• Strong influencing, negotiation and communication skills.
• Team player able to work under pressure to deadlines.
• Organised, methodical with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage quality and fit for a capsule area with supervision.
• Run fit meetings and drive consistency and improvements.
• Drive product, performance, and sustainability through benchmarking and projects.
• Collaborate with Garment Technologist on fabric, construction, and fit.
• Manage category testing and AQL programme.
• Monitor returns data to identify issues and implement improvements.
• Build supplier relationships to influence quality and fit.

We have an amazing opportunity to support our growth and the technical/ sustainable product development of our Mountain Warehouse, Animal and Eastern Mountain Sports brands. The role is multi-product women’s, men’s and childrenswear with a jersey focus. The successful candidates will have oversight of a small product area.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing the quality and fit for a capsule area with the support of a senior.
• Running fit meetings for your area, driving consistency and fit improvements.
• Driving innovation in product, performance, and sustainability through benchmarking and technical projects.
• Integral part of the buying team, working with the Garment Technologist to deliver technical suitability of fabric, construction, and fit.
• Managing your categories testing and AQL programme.
• Monitoring returns data to identify poor performance and deliver improvements.
• Building supplier relationships to influence quality and fit.
