Job summary

Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting for a part-time Security Officer at the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital. The role offers 30 hours per week on a rolling rota across 7 days including weekends and bank holidays, with pay circa £25,272 pro rata per annum.

The post requires a Security Industry Authority qualification and a commitment to maintaining a high quality, patient-focused security service. Full training and NHS terms apply.

Job overview

The provision of a high quality, efficient customer orientated security service and compliance with the Trust Patient Confidentiality Policy.

The job role requires that the post holder will either undertake the role of security guard during his shift. working one fixed day per week with the remaining hours allocated ADHOC in advance.

this position is a fulltime position with flexible shift working to suit the needs of the department working 12 hour shifts

The Security department at Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital provide a variety of services to patients and departments, including maintaining a safe environment for patients and staff, the provision of a high quality, efficient customer orientated Security service and compliance with the Trust Patient Confidentiality Policy.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
  • To provide a comprehensive Security service to all Wards and
    Departments on site to be flexible in approach to work and undertake other duties that are assigned under the role.
  • To provide a security service to the hospital and grounds, protecting people and property and detecting and preventing crime.
  • To manage the Trust’s car parks, dealing with illegally parked vehicles and ensuring safe access and egress from site.

This post is required to work on a rolling Rota working 12 hour shifts with a 1 hour un-paid break.
