Job summary

Shaw Trust is looking for an Assistant Financial Reporting Accountant to join their group finance team. This remote role offers the opportunity to gain experience in financial reporting and tax compliance while contributing to a social purpose organisation. Candidates should be working towards CCAB qualification and have experience in relevant financial processes.

Purpose

Shaw Trust is a leading UK charity, being a key provider of employability services for DWP, justice services through HMPPS, education services with the DfE, fostering and child support services for OFSTED and CQC, and much more.

This role is part of the development of a Group Finance team and will have opportunities to gain experience in both financial reporting and tax compliance work across a wide group structure.

We need someone who is comfortable working remotely while developing excellent working relations with colleagues across a large (c.£200m) turnover, multi-location organisation

Essential:

You will:

  • be actively working towards CCAB qualification or equivalent
  • have relevant experience of monthly management accounts or annual statutory accounts or tax regulatory returns
  • have experience of improving systems and processes
  • have the ability to communicate complex financial information in a straightforward way
