Job summary

Page Personnel is recruiting for an Assistant Financial Controller in Doncaster. The role reports to the Financial Controller and covers the delivery of accurate financial reporting, strong controls, and day-to-day finance operations across the business.

You will lead monthly management accounts, assist with year-end closes, review reconciliations, support audits and regulatory reporting, and help drive ERP improvements while mentoring junior colleagues in a growing SME.

Qualifications

• Be qualified (ACCA, CIMA or ACA), or at the latter stages of study, or qualified by experience.
• Strong experience in financial reporting and month-end processes.
• Experience of preparing management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Live within a commutable distance to Doncaster.

Responsibilities

• Reporting into the Financial Controller and delivering accurate financial reporting.
• Maintaining strong financial controls and supervising daily finance operations.
• Assist with monthly management accounts, month-end, quarter-end and year-end close.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations and ensure policy compliance.
• Support external audits and statutory reporting requirements.
• Assist with tax and regulatory compliance activities.
• Contribute to ERP and finance system improvements and process efficiencies.
• Identify financial risks and control issues; mentor junior team members.

About Our Client

Our client is a small manufacturing business in Doncaster, which is part of a large Group.

Job Description

You will be reporting into the Financial Controller, and will play a key role in the delivery of accurate financial reporting, maintenance of strong financial controls, and the day-to-day management of finance operations. This position offers broad exposure across all areas of finance. Your duties will include, but will not be limited to:

• Supporting with preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end and year-end close.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
• Assist with external audits and statutory reporting requirements.
• Support tax and regulatory compliance activities.
• Supervise and mentor junior finance team members.
• Oversee daily finance operations and ensure transactions are processed accurately and on time.
• Contribute to ERP and finance systems improvements.
• Drive process efficiencies and reporting enhancements.
• Identify and elevate financial risks and control issues where appropriate.
