Job summary

Hyra is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join our Derby finance team. This role is ideal for a candidate studying ACCA or CIMA, looking to progress within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

You will gain broad exposure across month-end reporting, reconciliations, stock and GRNI, while benefiting from study support and clear career progression in a growing company.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, engineering or product-based environments.
• Currently studying towards ACCA or CIMA.
• Good understanding of accounting principles and double-entry bookkeeping.
• Experience with reconciliations, journals and ledgers.
• Exposure to stock, GRNI, purchase orders or manufacturing finance processes is a plus.
• Good Excel skills and strong attention to detail.
• Experience using an ERP/accounting system; D365 experience would be desirable.
• Organised, reliable and able to meet deadlines.
• Commercially minded with understanding of how finance supports the wider business.

• Support VAT returns and financial reporting.
• Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments and depreciation.
• Manage sales invoicing, credit notes and the sales ledger.
• Issue statements and support credit control.
• Assist with month-end, reconciliations and reporting.
• Prepare debtor, GRNI and cost centre reports.
• Process and reconcile intercompany recharges.
• Support year-end and audit requirements.
• Provide payroll cover when required.

About the Role

We are looking for an Assistant Accountant studying towards ACCA or CIMA to join a growing finance team in Derby.
