Job summary

leaf HOSPITALITY, a hotel management company, is seeking an experienced Assistant Financial Controller for the Lincoln portfolio. You will support financial control, reporting and compliance across multiple hotels and act as a bridge between hotel operations and the Shared Services Finance function.

You’ll work with operational leaders and finance colleagues on period-end reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, forecasting, payroll submissions and financial analysis to ensure accurate, timely

Qualifications

• At least 2–3 years in a finance or accounting role, ideally in hotels/multi-site.
• Strong understanding of purchase ledger, sales ledger, banking, payroll submissions and month-end processes.
• Experience preparing reconciliations and contributing to financial reporting.
• Excel skills (intermediate–advanced).
• Attention to detail and well-organised approach.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage competing priorities across several properties.
• Confident communication and stakeholder management.
• Collaborative with hotel operational teams and senior finance colleagues.
• Knowledge of hotel finance systems or PMS would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Support accurate and timely month-end and period-end reporting across the hotel portfolio.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations, banking activity and financial controls, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Assist with the preparation of management accounts, financial reporting packs and supporting analysis.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting activity across the supported hotels.
• Complete monthly payroll submissions accurately and within agreed deadlines.
• Review revenue control processes and financial information to support accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor aged debt, supplier balances and working capital performance, escalating concerns when appropriate.
• Support the preparation of VAT returns, audits and other statutory reporting requirements.

Assistant Financial Controller

Join Our Team

We’re looking for an experienced and organised Assistant Financial Controller to support financial control, reporting and compliance across a portfolio of hotels. Based at DoubleTree by Hilton Lincoln and reporting to the Shared Services Manager (Finance) you’ll act as an important link between hotel operational teams and the wider Shared Services Finance function. You’ll help ensure financial processes are completed accurately, controls remain effective and reporting deadlines are consistently achieved.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong hotel, hospitality or multi-site finance experience who is ready to broaden their responsibilities. You’ll work closely with operational leaders and other finance team members, supporting everything from period-end reporting and balance sheet reconciliations to forecasting, payroll submissions and financial analysis.

What You’ll Be Doing

  What We’re Looking For

  • At least two to three years’ experience in a finance or accounting role, ideally within hotels, hospitality, or a multi-site environment.
  • A strong understanding of purchase ledger, sales ledger, banking, payroll submissions and month-end processes.
  • Experience preparing reconciliations and contributing to financial reporting.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a well‑organised approach.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines across several properties.
  • Confident communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • A collaborative approach to working with hotel operational teams and senior finance colleagues.
  • Working knowledge of hotel finance systems or Property Management Systems would be an advantage.
  • Integrity, transparency and professionalism when handling confidential financial information.
