About the role

We are seeking an Assistant Finance Manager to provide temporary maternity cover for our Head of Finance. The role is a fixed-term contract of 18 months, with the possibility of permanence following completion.

You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records in Xero, ensuring compliance with internal policies, and assisting with financial reporting with support from a Fractional CFO and the Co-CEO.

This is a hands-on role at a growing London InsurTech, ideal for a proactive and collaborative individual eager to take responsibility for the Finance function. The position is hybrid, with 2 days a week based at our London HQ.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Bookkeeping in Xero
  2. Raising and chasing sales invoices
  3. Managing payment runs bi-monthly, monthly, and ad-hoc
  4. Preparing monthly management accounts
  5. Submitting Quarterly VAT returns
  6. Preparing and submitting annual P11D and PSA
  7. Payroll review and approval alongside HR
  8. Managing employee expenses via Pleo
  9. Maintaining statutory books and filings at Companies House, e.g., annual confirmation statement
About you
Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CII, ACCA) are desirable but not essential
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience or experience from practice
  • Advanced Excel and Google Suite skills
  • Experience with payroll processing

  • Experience with inter-company bookkeeping and reconciliations
  • Experience with EMI and Share Option Plans
