Avara Foods Ltd. is seeking an Assistant Farm Manager for our Little Kelk site. You will help oversee day-to-day operations on a modern farm and ensure welfare and performance of our livestock, while maintaining high site standards.

You will work closely with the Farm Manager, supervise staff, and manage costs, with travel between multiple sites and a commitment to health, safety, and animal welfare. Genuine opportunity for progression and training.

Competenze

• Own transport is essential – travel between multiple sites.
• Experience with livestock, poultry preferred but not essential.
• Strong communication and people skills are required.
• Willingness to learn and self-motivation.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and complete manual tasks.
• Basic IT skills.

Mansioni

• Maintaining optimum environmental conditions for bird welfare and biosecurity.
• Feeding, vaccinating, and grading birds.
• Overseeing site maintenance and ensuring company standards are met.
• Supervising staff and contractors, ensuring Health & Safety compliance.
• Maintaining accurate records in line with UK legislation and Avara policies.
• Managing farm costs effectively.
• Upholding exceptional animal welfare, hygiene, and husbandry standards.
• Supporting operations on other farms when needed.
• Covering for the Farm Manager during absence.
• Reporting directly to the Farm Manager.
