Job summary

Avara Foods is seeking an Assistant Farm Manager for the Halfacres site in the UK. You will manage day-to-day farming operations, focusing on the wellbeing and performance of poultry stock, hygiene, and welfare in a modern farming environment.

Applicants should have livestock experience, a poultry-production qualification or related agriculture qualification, and strong communication skills. Travel to other farm sites and shift coverage may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in livestock management and poultry production preferred.
• Good communication and people skills essential.
• Willingness to learn and self-motivation; ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Maintain optimum environmental conditions to ensure bird welfare and biosecurity practices.
• Complete feeding, vaccinating and grading of the birds.
• Ensure site maintenance and uphold Avara Foods standards; supervise staff and third parties.
• Cover Farm Manager duties in their absence and report to the Farm Manager.
• Travel to different farm sites if needed and work across shifts.
