Avara Foods Ltd. is seeking an Assistant Farm Manager at Crozen to lead day-to-day operations on a busy rearing farm.

You will focus on animal welfare, biosecurity and staff supervision, working closely with the farm management team. With hands-on responsibilities and a commitment to high standards, you’ll maintain optimal environment conditions, oversee routine tasks, and contribute to continuous improvement across the site.

Qualifications

• Own transport is essential – travel between multiple sites.
• Previous livestock experience (poultry preferred but not essential).
• NVQ/Diploma Level 3 in Poultry Production or Agriculture (desirable – full training provided).

Responsabilités

• Maintain optimum environmental conditions to ensure bird welfare and biosecurity practises are maintained.
• Complete grading and vaccinating of the birds.
• Ensure site maintenance and general Avara Foods standards are met and completed.
• Supervise staff and third parties whilst on site, ensuring adherence to Health and Safety procedures.
• Comply with legislative and assurance scheme standards.
• Maintain accurate records as stipulated by Avara Foods & UK legislation (goods and services received, generator, alarm logs, crop records, medication register, accident book etc.).
• Operate financial control systems in support of effective best cost management.
• Ensure that high standards of animal welfare, hygiene and husbandry practice are maintained.
• Working on other farm sites, as and when needed.
• Covering in the Farm manager’s absence
• Reporting to the Farm Manager
