Job summary

Avara Foods is seeking an Assistant Farm Manager for our Little Kelk site. You will work with the Farm Manager to oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring high welfare and performance of our poultry stock in a busy, on-site environment.

The role emphasizes hands-on management, record-keeping, and adherence to biosecurity and company standards, with training provided and opportunities for career progression within Avara Foods.

Qualifications

• Own transport is essential to travel between multiple farm sites.
• Experience with poultry or livestock is preferred but not mandatory.
• Good communication and people skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Help oversee day-to-day farm operations alongside the Farm Manager.
• Ensure welfare and performance of poultry on a modern company farm.
• Maintain records in line with UK legislation and company policies.
• Assist with site maintenance, health and safety compliance, and cost management.
• Cover for the Farm Manager during absences when needed.
